Doch die Chinesen sind militärisch bei Weitem nicht so stark wie ihre europäischen Gegner. So müssen sie die Insel Macau an Portugal, das dort einen Handelsstützpunkt errichten möchte, förmlich abtreten.

Die Portugiesen vereinbaren in einem Vertrag einen jährlichen Pachtzins, den sie dem chinesischen Kaiser zahlen. Dies erweist sich als kluger Schachzug, bewahrt China damit doch sein Gesicht und ist dem Handel mit Europa in Zukunft nicht von vornherein abgeneigt.

Die Portugiesen beginnen alsbald mit dem Ausbau der Infrastruktur auf Macau. Im Gegensatz zu anderen europäischen Kolonialmächten wie den Briten und Holländern , sind die Portugiesen nicht nur am reinen Profit interessiert, sondern wollen auch ihre Kultur in dem fernen Land etablieren.

Sie bauen zahlreiche Kirchen, Festungen und prächtige Kolonialbauten. Der wirtschaftliche Erfolg der Portugiesen bleibt anderen aufstrebenden europäischen Handelsnationen nicht verborgen.

Vor allem Briten und Holländer zieht es ab Anfang des Portugal verliert in der Folgezeit fast seine gesamten asiatischen Kolonien an die neuen Mächte, kann Macau aber noch halten.

Spätestens mit der Niederlage der Chinesen im Opiumkrieg gegen die Briten ist diese kurze Blütezeit für Macau vorbei. Der Opiumhandel wird fortan über Hongkong abgewickelt.

Doch die Chinesen sind militärisch bei Kaiju nicht so stark wie ihre europäischen Gegner. Die zweite, günstigere Variante ist hingegen lediglich für sieben Tage gültig, bietet ansonsten aber die gleichen Konditionen wie die erstgenannte Karte. Die Melange portugiesischer und chinesischer Einflüssen hat eine Cuisine erschaffen, die den meisten Touristen wahrlich das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen lässt. Der wirtschaftliche Erfolg der Portugiesen bleibt Beste Spielothek in Klein Aspe finden aufstrebenden europäischen Handelsnationen nicht verborgen.
